Our Statement of Faith

As a Christian church, we believe that God desires a personal love relationship with every person on earth, that such a relationship is essential for each of us to be the people “in His image” God created us to be, but that humanity has caused a break in that relationship through ignorance and sin. In a way we can’t understand God, who is in control over all things. honors our own willfulness and allows us to have our own way even when our selfish choices grieve Him deeply. All creation suffers as a result.

We believe that God has tried many times and in many ways to woo us back to Himself over many generations, ever since He created us. Finally, because God so loved the world, he sent His beloved Son, Jesus to walk among us on earth and to show and explain God’s ways in person. Jesus was both fully God and fully human, and so could mediate peace between God and humanity. He ensured that peace forever by willingly sacrificing His sinless life on a cross to pay the penalty for our sins.

We believe that whoever chooses to believe these truths, and prays to surrender his or her will to God and personally accepts God’s free gift of love and forgiveness will life life more abundantly both now and eternally. God proved this to us by raising Jesus from the dead. because of that divine sacrifice, God now can restore us, with the help of His Holy Spirit, to the people He would like us to be.

We believe there is nothing we can do to earn God’s love, nor can we do anything to lose God’s love. Our salvation is dependent on who God is, not who we are. Nonetheless, jesus Himself declared the Bible can be summed up to say we should love God with all our hearts, souls and minds, and we should love other people as much as we love ourselves. This divine love isn’t an emotion but a deep sense of identification with humanity on God’s behalf.

This is Gods’ plan for each of us, if only we will allow Him into our lives and walk in His ways.

This is very GOOD NEWS indeed!
